The ICFP is a non-profit organization that has been formed to help provide standards in practice and education for the field of digital forensics.

Q-What makes the ICFP different than some of the other organizations?
The ICFP is first off a non-profit and was not designed to be a training organization. The design of the ICFP was to provide baseline practice standards, educational standards, and testing. In addition, the ICFP offers different levels of membership based on a variety of different factors.

Q-Who can join the ICFP?
All individuals that are actively involved in the fields of digital evidence or computer forensics are welcome to join the ICFP. All applications are reviewed on a case by case basis.

Q-Who are the members that make up the board of director advisors for the ICFP?
The board of director advisors is made up of individuals that are in the field of computer forensics and have established themselves through years of experience to be knowledgeable in the field.

Q-Who are the members that make up the professional panels?
The professional panels are groups of members that volunteer to serve on panels associated with the different disciplines associated with the ICFP. Panel members serve for 18 month terms.

Q-How can I volunteer?
There are many levels that you can help the ICFP with, from being a member of the professional panels, to helping with review of the data that is compiled. You can contact the ICFP at info@forensic-institute.org and ask how you can help.

Q-What does my membership fee cover?
The membership fee for the ICFP is paid on a yearly basis and covers the shipping of your membership packet and basic administration of the organization.
